The Melbourne Storm have made significant strides in recent months by re-signing key players such as Jahrome Hughes and Xavier Coates.
However, it appears that the club has different plans for star prop Nelson Asofa-Solomona, who has reportedly been offered to rival teams, even though he is still under contract.
Asofa-Solomona, earning more than $800,000 annually until the conclusion of the 2028 season, was reportedly suggested to the New Zealand Warriors through a third-party intermediary, as disclosed by Sport Confidential.
The Warriors were deterred by his substantial salary, ruling out a potential return to New Zealand for Asofa-Solomona.
He has also been previously linked with the emerging rugby competition R360, indicating that his exit from the Storm seems increasingly inevitable, notwithstanding his expensive and long-term contract.
Having been a crucial part of the Storm's lineup for 10 years, Asofa-Solomona will undoubtedly be missed, despite facing scrutiny over his discipline on the field.
While there are no updates on his future destination, it is becoming increasingly unlikely that he will remain with the Melbourne Storm for the entire duration of his contract.
