The Melbourne Storm have released an injury update concerning five players ahead of their Round 17 game against the Cronulla Sharks.
General Manager of Football, Frank Ponissi, announced that centre Jack Howarth will be sidelined for several weeks due to appendicitis, effectively ruling him out of selection for the Queensland Maroons in Game 3 of the 2025 State of Origin series.
Outside back Moses Leo is also unavailable for this weekend's match.
The club hopes Leo can return either next week or the following week, with plans for him to regain match fitness through the NSW Cup with the North Sydney Bears before being considered for the first-grade team.
"Jack came down with appendicitis yesterday (Tuesday) and had surgery to remove his appendix last night," Ponissi stated.
