The Melbourne Storm has hit back at reports linking Sharks forward Tom Hazelton to a shock move to the club, following the sudden retirement of Christian Welch.
Hazelton, who is set to become a free agent at the end of the season, has attracted interest from other teams, including his current club who are eager to retain him.
The rumour caught everyone off guard, with Wide World of Sports suggesting that the Storm were eyeing the try-scoring prop to fill the void left by Welch's departure.
However, the Storm quickly put the speculation to rest, pointing to their solid front-row lineup which includes the likes of Stefano Utoikamanu and Nelson Asofa-Solomona.
In a statement, the Storm made it clear that they have no intentions of pursuing Hazelton at this time.
It seems the club is happy with their current squad and is not looking to make any drastic changes.
Time will tell if Hazelton ends up staying put or if he will be lured away by another team in need of his talents.
