Steve Menzies to make grand return to rugby

Legendary former NRL forward Steve "Beaver" Menzies is set to make a triumphant sporting comeback next weekend, as he dons the green and gold to represent Australia Men's 50s division at the Touch Football World Cup in England.

After hanging up his boots from rugby league in 2013, Menzies has carved out an impressive career in Touch Football, showcasing his speed and agility on the field.

His achievements include representing NSW in the 2022 Touch Football State of Origin and donning the Sydney Scorpions jersey at the Championships three times.

Joining the likes of Scott Prince, Benji Marshall, and Adrian Lam, Menzies will now add another chapter to his sporting legacy by competing in both Rugby League and Touch Football World Cup tournaments.

His experience, leadership, and skills will undoubtedly be a valuable asset to the Australian Over-50s Emus national touch football team as they strive for glory on the international stage.

With a remarkable 16-season NRL career under his belt, Menzies tallied an impressive 349 appearances and notched 180 tries for the Northern Eagles and Manly Sea Eagles from 1993 to 2008.

His return to competitive sport is sure to reignite memories of his stellar performances on the rugby league field, as he brings his trademark tenacity and determination to the Touch Football arena once more.
