The Canterbury Bulldogs have made numerous commendable decisions since their struggles in the early 2020s, including hiring Cameron Ciraldo, appointing Phil Gould as general manager, and nurturing talented junior players.
However, their most significant move has been welcoming Stephen Crichton, who has emerged as one of the club's finest leaders in nearly a decade.
Consequently, it's unsurprising that the Bulldogs have acted quickly to secure their influential captain, extending Crichton's contract until the end of 2031.
This substantial deal ensures that Crichton will remain at Belmore into his early thirties, representing a significant investment in one of the NRL's top talents.
Gould emphasized the importance of this contract, describing today as "a landmark day" in Bulldogs history.
"Stephen has developed into one of the game's best captains since his arrival," Gould remarked in a statement.
