Canterbury Bulldogs captain, Stephen Crichton, was brought to the team to instill a sense of championship experience.
Though this has yielded positive results at times, the team has recently lost its direction, having relinquished their top position in the NRL standings.
Following a disappointing 32-12 defeat to the Sydney Roosters, the NSW Blues centre has issued a wake-up call to his teammates.
"You shouldn't be comfortable with your position, regardless of if you're in the starting team or not," Crichton stated in a press conference.
"There are a lot of good players in the squad, so if you can't do the job, we've got a lot of NSW Cup boys knocking on the door."
Crichton highlighted his worries about the team's growing complacency and aims to address it urgently to protect their chances in the finals.
