The Illawarra Steelers have officially announced their squad for the 2025 Harvey Norman NSW Women's Premiership season as they aim to defend their title.

Coach Jamie Szczerbanik returns to lead the team following their successful Grand Final win over Newcastle, which ended in a score of 10-6.

Key players retained from the 2024 championship-winning team include skipper Mackenzie Lear, along with Tayleah Handcock, Kiara Kostovski, Shae Muhleisen, Jessica Patea, Tori Shipton, Tiarna West, and Rhian Yeo.

The squad also welcomes several promising players from the club's Tarsha Gale Cup and Lisa Fiaola Cup teams who will step up to the senior level, including Ella Churchill, Ella Greatz, Tahanni Kaufusi, Makayla McFayden, Charlotte Nicolson, Herewaka Pohatu, Skye Spencer, Armani Tanioria, and Billie Va'a.

Additionally, standout performers Halle Barrett and Michala Hardy from the Lisa Fiaola Cup will join the squad as development players, further showcasing the strength of the club's talent pathways.

The Steelers' title defense is set to commence on Saturday, July 5, against the Wests Tigers at Collegians.
