State of Origin Set for New Zealand in 2027

State of Origin is set to take place in New Zealand in 2027, a development that has been rumored for some time. This annual event, usually held in a neutral location, has previously taken place in cities like Perth, Adelaide, and Melbourne. However, aside from an exhibition match decades ago, it has not been hosted outside of Australia.

Reports from News Corp indicate that negotiations have advanced, and after recent discussions, it's looking likely that the 2027 game will indeed be hosted in New Zealand. A last-minute collapse of the agreement is the only potential hurdle that could prevent this from happening. According to sources, the New Zealand government is prepared to invest $5 million to facilitate the hosting of the Origin match across the Tasman Sea.

Auckland's Eden Park, a renowned venue for New Zealand's rugby union and cricket events, is believed to be the likely location for the match. An official announcement is expected in the coming weeks, as final arrangements, including the game's kick-off time, are being finalized.
