Footy fans were absolutely livid on Wednesday night after the State of Origin decider was continuously interrupted by an "unacceptable" sight.
Channel 9 has come under fire following Wednesday night's Origin decider as ads were played during active play due to a lack of stoppages.
Fans were left seething during NSW's 14-4 victory as the game shifted to a split-screen view in order to accommodate the ads.
At various points, ads were wedged into minor stoppages, causing fans to miss out on crucial gameplay.
This decision sparked a wave of criticism on social media directed towards the broadcaster.
"Ch9 are deplorable," one user vented on X, formerly known as Twitter.
"Tight game, no breaks, yet they decide to blast an ad during the action.
Maybe run a silent ad at the bottom or something.
It's enough to make your blood boil."
