Aussie fans rejoice as massive mural unveiled at iconic stadium

In a nod to the rich history of the game and the passion it stirs in fans, a larger-than-life mural has been revealed at Go Media Stadium, Rarotonga Mt Smart.

The unveiling of this masterpiece pays tribute to the legacy of the stadium and the unwavering support of the faithful fans who call it home.

Stretching nearly 60 meters in length and standing tall at five meters, this epic artwork adorns the wall of the lower concourse in the East Stand.

It weaves together a tapestry of images that capture the essence of the stadium - from the echoes of past victories to the cheers of the crowd, from the sweat of athletes to the camaraderie of spectators.

Funded in part by the one and only NZ Warriors and Auckland FC, the mural is a testament to the shared pride both teams have in their beloved home ground.

Three talented artists, including the likes of Jonny4Higher and the dynamic duo of brothers Haser and Tawck, poured their hearts and souls into this project over a period of three weeks.

This morning, the mural was blessed in a special ceremony led by representatives from Ngāti Whatua Orakei and the revered kaumatua David Wilson Takaanini of Te Ākitai Waiohua.

As the sun rose over the stadium, the spirits of the land and its people seemed to smile upon this stunning tribute to the sporting legacy etched into the very fabric of Go Media Stadium.
