The NRL has announced the men's and women's squads for the Prime Minister's XIII matches set to take place against Papua New Guinea next weekend in Port Moresby.
This annual event provides a platform for top players who were overlooked for the Kangaroos and Jillaroos, as well as those who did not participate in the NRL or NRLW finals, to showcase their skills at the international level.
In the men's lineup, debutants Keaon Koloamatangi and Ethan Strange will get the chance to play before the Australian team departs for the Ashes in England. The squad brims with talent, featuring emerging stars and experienced players.
Jye Gray, Tallis Duncan, and Tyran Wishart represent the next wave of players, while seasoned athletes like Bradman Best, Nick Meaney, Jayden Campbell, Corey Horsburgh, and Josh Curran bring significant experience to the team.
Other notable selections include Kyle Flanagan, Fletcher Hunt, and Harrison Edwards. Trai Fuller, who has made a comeback with the Dolphins after an ACL injury, will also join the squad for this match.
Kevin Walters, the team's coach, expressed his enthusiasm about the roster. "The squad has a really strong mix of experienced representative players and some of the best young talent that we saw showcased in the NRL this season. There is a lot of strike across the park with the likes of Ethan Strange, Jye Gray, Bradman Best and Jason Saab and some real power and mobility up front, led by Keaon Koloamatangi who is getting the opportunity to captain the side. I'm excited to get to work with the team this week and put on a great display in Port Moresby on Sunday," Walters stated.
