Penrith Panthers star Taylan May is currently under investigation after a high-speed social media post raised red flags within the club.
The video, showing a sports car zooming at over 90kph in a residential area, has sparked concern and prompted the Panthers to take action.
According to reports from news.com.au and The Daily Telegraph, the NRL's Integrity Unit has been made aware of the footage that surfaced on May's Instagram over a week ago.
The clip captured May inside a speedy Audi R8, reaching a whopping 96km/h, well above the NSW speed limits of 50km/h in residential zones.
The footage, which has garnered attention for all the wrong reasons, also indicates that the car was near a school at the time of recording.
Despite the alarming speed and location, May has not been accused of being behind the wheel or of any wrongdoing related to the incident.
The video ends with a passenger in the car exclaiming "holy moly bra" as the vehicle abruptly hits the brakes, putting an end to the daring joyride.
The Panthers are now playing a game of investigation, ensuring that they handle the situation with the precision and discipline that is expected of a top-tier sporting organization.
