St George Illawarra forward Hannah Southwell has expressed her excitement about returning to the club, primarily due to her desire to play alongside captain and halfback Raecene McGregor.
Southwell, who captained the Knights in 2022 and the previous season, originally joined the Dragons as a foundation player in 2018, alongside McGregor and current female football manager Sam Bremner.
Southwell and McGregor previously reunited in 2021 to lead the Sydney Roosters to a premiership victory over St George Illawarra, strengthening their bond.
Southwell emphasized her affection for playing with McGregor, stating, "I love playing with Rae." The reunion at the Dragons marks a significant moment for both players as they continue their football journey together.
