Souths suffer 'horror show', Demetriou not impressed

Reece Walsh and Latrell Mitchell hug it out

South Sydney coach Jason Demetriou has ripped into his team after their second consecutive loss, describing the 28-18 defeat to the Brisbane Broncos as a "horror show" filled with self-inflicted wounds.

Despite being considered among the premiership favorites, the pressure is mounting on the Rabbitohs following their disappointing finish in 2023 and starting the season 0-2, with tough matches against playoff teams ahead.

With talent aplenty in their squad, Demetriou is under scrutiny to lead the Rabbitohs back to glory, especially with the looming presence of his predecessor Wayne Bennett's contract situation.

The painful defeat on Thursday night, filled with errors and missed opportunities, would have been a bitter pill to swallow for the coach.
