English Super League clubs are reportedly interested in signing Cody Walker, giving the South Sydney five-eighth another option as he weighs his future.
The Rabbitohs are seeking to retain Walker, whose contract expires at the end of the 2026 season, and did not list him among their departures after their final game.
Talks have continued, but the sides remain apart on his value, with South Sydney initially offering about $300,000 per season.
According to News Corp, the club has since raised its offer to around $400,000 annually, which is believed to be its limit given its tight salary cap.
Walker's injuries and fitness late in his career have concerned South Sydney, although he was strong in getting through the 2027 season.
He must now decide whether to stay, pursue an overseas move or retire; he is believed to have a possible mentoring or coaching role at South Sydney after his playing career.
Walker reportedly wants to remain with the Rabbitohs, but will consider his own interests if he continues playing.
