Sommerton joins battle for Titans No.9 jumper

New addition Luke Sommerton is venturing beyond his usual surroundings as he joins the Titans, entering a competitive three-way fight for the team's No. 9 jersey ahead of the upcoming Round 1.

Familiar with the demands of the dummy-half position from his time at Penrith, the 25-year-old aims to secure more consistent first-grade play after making 12 NRL appearances since his 2023 debut, where he served as backup to three-time premiership-winning hooker Mitch Kenny.

Having spent his entire life in Western Sydney, Sommerton believes it is the perfect moment for a fresh start and is embracing his first week at Parkwood following his relocation to Queensland.

Thrilled about the new location and atmosphere, Sommerton also sees this as an opportune time to join the Titans, especially with Josh Hannay now leading the club and steering it in a promising new direction.
