Maroons coach Billy Slater is anxiously awaiting news on the availability of Storm hooker Harry Grant, one of four Origin stars poised to return in Round 11 matches.
According to nrl.com.au, Grant, along with Roosters prop Lindsay Collins and Canberra forward Corey Horsburgh, are in strong contention for the Queensland team to face NSW in Origin I on May 28 at Suncorp Stadium.
Blues winger Zac Lomax has been named in the centres for Parramatta but must pass a fitness test on his broken foot to play in the match against Newcastle on Friday night.
Meanwhile, Collins, recovering from a knee injury, and Horsburgh, who is dealing with a concussion, are expected to be fit before the Queensland team announcement on Monday.
In contrast, Grant's situation is less certain.
The Storm captain has been sidelined since Round 7 due to a hamstring injury sustained during training just before the Easter Friday clash with the Dolphins.
Although he has been named among the reserves for Saturday night's trip to Cronulla, Storm officials indicate that Grant must pass a series of fitness tests this week to be eligible for selection against the Sharks.
