Billy Slater has been put on notice to shake things up for the State of Origin decider after Queensland were left licking their wounds following a brutal defeat in Melbourne.
Queensland legend Corey Parker couldn't hide his dismay at the Maroons' performance against the Blues, describing it as a nightmare.
Another former Maroon lamented that he had never seen the team so thoroughly "intimidated and bullied" as they were in the 38-18 drubbing at the MCG.
The Maroons had a golden opportunity to clinch the series in Melbourne, but instead now must regroup for the decider after being on the receiving end of a Blues onslaught that saw them fall behind 34-0 early on.
Parker, a 19-time Queensland representative, was left dumbfounded by the current squad's lackluster display in such a crucial match against a NSW team that had undergone significant changes since their last encounter.
"I woke up this morning and wondered if I had imagined Queensland trailing 34-0 at halftime," Parker revealed to SENQ.
"It was a masterclass from NSW, all credit to them, but for Queensland, it was disappointing to say the least.
"When you analyze the game, you can't help but notice certain patterns and behaviors that were lacking from the Maroons early on.
Changes need to be made before the decider if we want to turn the tables on the Blues."
