In a move as slick as a well-executed try, Sky has joined forces with The Brick charity to launch a cutting-edge digital community hub at Wigan Warriors' stadium.

The newly unveiled Sky Up Digital Hub is set to be a game-changer, offering free Sky WiFi, a podcast zone, a dedicated Sky Sports viewing area, and designated study and working spaces for over 200 people.

With over 14,000 children under the age of 16 living in poverty in Wigan as of March 2023, the need for initiatives like the Sky Up Digital Hub is as clear as the black-and-white stripes of the Wigan Warriors jersey.

The partnership between Sky and The Brick, a local charity dedicated to combating poverty, inequality, and discrimination, has already made its mark, with The Brick's name adorning the stadium alongside that of the Warriors and Wigan Athletic.

Lisa Nandy MP, a staunch supporter of the initiative, believes that the hub will be a game-changer in Wigan's ongoing efforts to bridge the gap in access to sports and technology.

"Sports is an integral part of Wigan's community, and we're confident that this hub will level the playing field for those facing digital exclusion," Nandy remarked in true sporting spirit.

With the launch of the Sky Up Digital Hub, the Wigan community can look forward to a bright future where everyone has a fair shot at scoring big, both on and off the field.
