York Valkyrie will be missing their captain, Sinead Peach, during the playoffs, as she has received a four-game suspension from the Rugby Football League.
According to reports from skysports.com, Peach was dismissed in a match against St Helens on August 30 after using "unacceptable language" and "questioning the integrity of a match official," contributing to her team's 18-8 defeat.
Video footage circulated online shows the 27-year-old in a heated exchange with referee Oliver Salmon during the 79th minute. Although her initial comments were inaudible, Salmon reacted by saying: "I'm not having you saying, 'Which one are you s*******?'. You're off."
The disciplinary panel determined that Peach had already served a portion of her suspension, having sat out a match against Leeds Rhinos last Sunday. However, she will be unavailable for the entire Super League playoff campaign, which starts with an away game against St Helens this Sunday.
