Steve Simpson, a legendary figure of the Newcastle Knights, has secured a new position as head coach, taking over from a former teammate who will exit the club at the season's conclusion.
As reported by The Newcastle Herald, Simpson is set to lead the Northern Hawks, who participate in the Newcastle Rugby League competition.
Simpson, currently the Knights' Under-17s coach, will succeed his former teammate and ex-NRL player Brad Tighe, who will leave the team after the current season wraps up.
