In a display of strength and skill, Wests Tigers have roared into the Jersey Flegg Cup season with a dominant 38-20 victory over the Kaiviti Silktails at Lidcombe Oval.
The Silktails put up a fight in the early stages, but it was Brandon Tumeth who ignited the Tigers with two quickfire tries to set the tone for the match.
Bailey Hodges and Zakauri Clarke added to the tally, while Emosi Daubitu made history by scoring the Silktails' inaugural Jersey Flegg try.
Clarke wasted no time in bagging his second try of the game early in the second half, as the Tigers' wingers also got in on the action to extend their lead.
The young Tigers team showed their potential with a late flurry of tries, sending a warning to their rivals that they mean business this season.
