Affiliate Wrap: Silktails Officially Launch Season

LeagueNews.co | Nick Loken

The Silktails have kicked off their season in style, but it was a tough week for the affiliate sides of the club.

Despite showing a lot of heart and determination, all four teams were unable to secure a win in their matches over the weekend.

The Dirty Reds Sydney Shield side started strong against Mounties, taking a commanding 16-point lead in the first half.

However, they couldn't maintain their momentum and ended up losing 28-22 at Aubrey Keech Reserve on Saturday.

It was a real game of two halves, with the Reds unable to hold onto their early lead.

Meanwhile, the Glebe Dirty Reds Sydney Shield side put up a brave fight against Mounties, ultimately falling short with a 26-18 loss.

Despite being down by 10 points early on, they fought back to take the lead 12-10 after 35 minutes thanks to tries from Lachlan Gibbs and Oshay Tyerman.

However, Mounties managed to score three quick tries to snatch the victory from Glebe.

Standout performances came from forwards Casey Morgan and Brodie Briggs, as well as half Connor Garetty and winger Oshay Tyreman.

These players really gave it their all on the field, but unfortunately, it wasn't enough to secure the win.

Glebe Dirty Reds Sydney Shield side will be looking to bounce back when they face off against Manly Leagues this weekend at St Marys Leagues Stadium at 2pm on Saturday afternoon.

It's a must-win game for the Reds, and they'll be giving it their all to come out on top.
