Gehamat Shibasaki, fresh off his impressive State of Origin debut with the QLD Maroons, has shared his main aspiration for the upcoming seasons.

According to reports from zerotackle.com, Shibasaki's journey is one of the compelling stories in rugby league this season.

He became the first player on a development contract to participate in State of Origin football, despite starting the pre-season without an NRL deal.

Before his breakthrough, Shibasaki played for the Townsville Blackhawks in the QLD Cup during the 2024 campaign, initially signing a train-and-trial contract with the Broncos.

His dedication and hard work caught the eye of coach Michael Maguire, leading to his promotion on the development list.

His performance was stellar, securing a regular spot in the back-line and scoring 12 tries in 15 matches, which ultimately earned him a call-up from Billy Slater to join the Maroons.

After achieving this milestone, Shibasaki expressed his desire to play alongside his younger brother, Jamal Shibasaki, on the same NRL team, emphasizing the importance of family in his aspirations.
