Brisbane Broncos centre Gehamat Shibasaki has acknowledged the consequences of his recent actions, which included a night of heavy drinking that led to his being dropped for the final match against Melbourne. He has expressed a strong desire to rectify his mistake.
The good news for the Broncos is that Shibasaki's facial fracture turned out to be minor. After consulting with a specialist, the club confirmed to AAP that he would be available for selection on September 28 at Suncorp Stadium.
Additionally, other players were seen training as well. Piakura was in a red no-contact bib on Monday, while prop Xavier Willison, cleared to play after his right forearm injury sustained during the round-22 match against South Sydney, also participated.
The team received further encouragement as key players Adam Reynolds, Ezra Mam, and Selwyn Cobbo, all returning from hamstring injuries, were seen training effectively.
Prop Payne Haas was given a session off to manage an ankle issue he faced against the Raiders. However, the Broncos reported that he is being looked after and is not at risk for the upcoming preliminary final.
In contrast, five-eighth Billy Walters, who suffered ACL damage in a game against Canberra-though it wasn't a full rupture-remains uncertain for future matches.
Shibasaki, reflecting on his recent reprimand for attending training in an altered state, assured that he would not repeat such behavior.
