Belinda Sharpe has been appointed as the on-field referee for Game 1 of the 2025 Women's State of Origin series, according to zerotackle.com.
Adam Gee will serve as the bunker referee for the match, while Kasey Badger, the other prominent female referee on the NRL's panel, will not participate in the series opener.
Badger, who has previously officiated all three games last year-including on-field duties in Game 1 and bunker roles in Games 2 and 3-will be absent despite her regular involvement.
This marks Sharpe's third consecutive women's Origin match, following her replacement of Badger in Games 2 and 3 last year.
