The Sharks have dug deep and broken a six-year drought in Melbourne, pulling off a spectacular 25-18 win over the Storm at AAMI Park on Saturday night.

Despite star playmaker Nicho Hynes being sidelined with calf tightness, Daniel Atkinson and Blayke Brailey rose to the occasion and led the Sharks to their eighth victory of the season.

Atkinson's clutch field goal in the 74th minute shattered an 18-18 stalemate, while a lightning-fast try from Siosifa Talakai off the kick-off secured the win.

The game was a rollercoaster of emotions, with the momentum swinging back and forth like a pendulum.

The Storm had a golden opportunity early in the match after a Harry Grant 40-20 kick, but a forward pass from Reimis Smith to Grant Anderson dashed their hopes of opening the scoring.

However, they soon took the lead with Nick Meaney slotting a penalty goal after Sharks fullback Will Kennedy was penalized for ruck interference.

Eli Katoa extended the Storm's lead to 6-0 with a powerful try, bulldozing through two Sharks defenders from dummy half.

But the resilient Sharks fought back, showcasing their grit and determination to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

This win marks a historic moment for the Sharks, breaking their dry spell in Melbourne and proving that they are a force to be reckoned with in the world of Rugby League.

The team's fighting spirit and never-say-die attitude were on full display, leaving fans cheering and opponents in awe of their tenacity.
