In a thrilling NRLW local derby, the Sharks emerged victorious over the Dragons with a final score of 16-8.
The game, held at PointsBet Stadium, proved to be a back-and-forth battle between the two teams.
Prior to kick-off, the Dragons were dealt a blow as starting lock Sophie Clancy was ruled out due to an ankle issue.
This led to Jamilee Bright being promoted to the starting lineup and Macie Carlile joining the interchange.
Unfortunately for the Dragons, their injury woes continued in the second half when Tara McGrath-West had to be assisted from the field with a sternum issue.
The Sharks' hooker, Brooke Anderson, was placed on report for a hair pull during the game.
Despite this, the Dragons came close to scoring off the resulting play, but an offside Shark prevented them from doing so.
The hosts, the Sharks, managed to score their first try through Anderson, who took advantage of a short ball from Quincy Dodd.
Tayla Preston successfully converted the try, extending the Sharks' lead to six points after 20 minutes of play.
