In a 'full circle moment,' the Cronulla Sharks are gearing up to complete their long journey to the top as they prepare for the grand final on Sunday.

The road to success has not been easy, with the initial disappointment of being left out of the NRLW competition fueling their fire.

The Sharks made a bold move by heavily investing in their women's program, paving the way for history to be made with the signing of Ruan Sims as the first women's rugby league player in 2017.

Joining Sims were other talented players such as Allana Ferguson, Maddie Studdon, Botille Vette-Welsh, and a host of others who have since made their mark in the NRLW.

Young halfback Tayla Preston recalls being a wide-eyed teenager learning from the experienced players, only to receive the news that Cronulla had missed out on a spot in the new competition.

But setbacks only fueled their determination to prove themselves on the field.

As they prepare for the grand final, the Sharks are ready to make their mark and show the league what they are made of.

It's been a hard-fought journey, but they are determined to come out on top and claim their rightful place in the spotlight.
