The Sharks are facing a significant setback with prop forward Tom Hazelton expected to be sidelined for three months after undergoing surgery on a sternoclavicular joint injury.

This injury, which he sustained during a tackle against Manly in round 10, required consultations with several shoulder specialists before surgery was performed.

The club anticipates his recovery will take up to 12 weeks.

However, they look forward to the return of experienced players such as Sione Katoa, Toby Rudolf, and Teig Wilton in the near future to bolster the squad.

On the other hand, the Eels have made a strategic move by activating the option for Josh Addo-Carr to remain at the club through 2026.

Addo-Carr, who joined Parramatta this season after his departure from the Bulldogs, has made a significant impact by scoring a team-high seven tries on the left wing, despite missing the initial part of the season due to suspension.

Eels general manager of football Mark O'Neill praised Addo-Carr, stating, "Josh has been a popular addition to the club.

From day one, he has embraced the Parramatta community and brought a real spark to the group."
