The Cronulla Sharks have bolstered their roster by securing two promising young talents, Niwhai Puru and Chris Vea'ila, who have both signed one-year deals extending through to the end of 2026.
Puru, a 23-year-old playmaker, and Vea'ila, a 22-year-old outside back, are aspiring to make their NRL debuts after playing pivotal roles in Newtown, Cronulla's feeder club, which is currently eyeing the 2024 NSW Cup title.
Both players showcased their skills during this year's NRL Pre-Season Challenge and have continued their strong performances with the Jets, who have won seven out of their first nine matches.
Notably, Puru, a gifted halfback, is leading the NSW Cup in scoring this year, amassing 83 points through seven tries, 27 goals, and a match-winning field goal, along with seven try assists.
This impressive form underscores their potential contributions to the Sharks' future.
