In classic rugby league fashion, the Sharks women's teams, Lisa Fiaola and Tarsha Gale, put up a fierce fight against the Penrith Panthers in round one, but unfortunately fell short in both matches.

The Lisa Fiaola Sharks found themselves trailing 14-0 at halftime, and despite their best efforts, they couldn't catch up, ultimately losing by a score of 26-10.

The Tarsha Gale under-19's match was a close one, with the young Sharks leading at one point in the second half, only to slip to an 18-10 defeat in the end.

Despite being the underdogs in terms of size, the Lisa Fiaola Sharks displayed admirable determination to stay in the game.

Even though they conceded three first-half tries, they never gave up and managed to score a couple of tries themselves, with Tahli Weigand and Julliana Kolio crossing the line to salvage some pride.

In the Tarsha Gale clash, the two teams were evenly matched at halftime, with Arianna Ruwoldt scoring for the Cronulla team.

However, they couldn't maintain their momentum in the second half and ultimately fell short against a strong Penrith side.

Overall, it was a tough day for the Sharks women, but they showed plenty of heart and fighting spirit in their performances.

With a bit more luck and some fine tuning, they'll no doubt bounce back stronger in the coming rounds.
