Cronulla Sharks Recruit Young Playmaker from Tigers
The Cronulla Sharks have made another strategic addition to their roster by signing promising playmaker Marc Tannous from the Wests Tigers. This move follows their previous acquisition of former Under-17s Harold Matthews Cup captain Alex Isdale from the Western Suburbs Magpies last year.
Marc, a skilled prospect who plays in the halves, is a product of the Balmain juniors and made his Under-21s Jersey Flegg Cup debut earlier this year. He was instrumental in leading Balmain close to the SG Ball Cup finals.
As the younger brother of Michael Tannous, who has represented the Lebanon national team in four matches, Marc has trained alongside NRL star Jarome Luai early in the season. This experience has further developed his talent as he joins the ranks of juniors transitioning out of the Wests Tigers.
"They've been unreal and backed me through everything and support me," Tannous said, expressing gratitude for the support he received during his time at the Tigers.
"When you're not playing the best patch of footy, they're the only ones you can lean on and have a bit of a sook too, and they help you get you through it," he added, highlighting the importance of team support during challenging times.
Marc expressed his aspirations, stating, "To one day play in the NRL is a dream of mine, and if I can get there, no matter how long it is, I'm happy to be patient. It would mean the world to me and my family."
He concluded with, "I just want to play some consistent footy and the rewards will come," underscoring his commitment to improving his game and achieving success in the future.
