The Sharks will face off against the Raiders at GIO Stadium on Saturday afternoon in Round 2 of the NRLW, seeking redemption after a close 18-16 defeat against the Parramatta Eels.
Both teams are looking for revenge after their respective tough opening matches; while the Sharks narrowly lost, the Raiders were defeated 36-14 by the Dragons.
Notably, the Sharks will be missing interchange forward Filomina Hanisi, who has sadly suffered a season-ending ruptured ACL.
Her injury provides an opportunity for local junior Stephanie Faulkner to debut in NRLW, marking a significant milestone as the first female to progress through Cronulla's entire pathways system.
In their last encounter in Canberra, the Sharks secured a 24-12 victory against the Raiders, with strong performances from captain Tiana Penitani Gray and senior leader Ellie Johnson.
Given that both teams have named similar line-ups to that previous match, Cronulla anticipates a fierce battle on the field once again.
Faulkner is particularly eager to make her debut a memorable one with a victory.
