The Sharks are excited to confirm that skilled forward Hohepa Puru and reliable outside back Mawene Hiroti have extended their contracts to play through the 2026 season.

In additional signing news, promising back-rower Harrison Hassett and emerging hooker Xavier Cacciotti have joined the NRL training squad, coming from Penrith and Canberra, respectively.

Puru showcased his talent in five NRL games this year, after leaving the Raiders to team up with his twin brother Niwhai. Meanwhile, the versatile Hiroti made an impact by scoring five tries in nine games.

The duo recently faced off in the All Stars arena in February, where Hiroti made his debut for the Māori side and Puru represented his Indigenous culture for the second time.

Both players excelled while playing for the Newtown Jets, the Sharks' NSW Cup partner club, whenever they were not involved in NRL games.
