They have since dominated their opponents, including the Knights, Panthers, and the minor premiers, the Raiders, in sudden-death showdowns to earn their spot in the grand final.
If they emerge victorious on Sunday, they will follow in the footsteps of the 2018 Cronulla team, led by Braydon Trindall, as only the second Sharks squad to claim the Jersey Flegg premiership.
On the other side of the field, the Bulldogs head into the grand final with a week of rest after a nail-biting victory over the Canberra team.
