In a significant move of retention, the Cronulla Sharks have secured the services of front-rower Oregon Kaufusi for an additional two seasons.
Having already exercised the mutual option in his contract for the current season, Kaufusi will now don the Sharks jersey until the culmination of the 2027 NRL seasons.
The only Sharks player to have graced an NRL Grand Final, Kaufusi has been a pillar of consistency in the forward pack this year, particularly shining in the crucial opening phases of matches.
His continued on-field performances have solidified his place in the team and endeared him to fans.
With the retention of Kaufusi, the Sharks look to establish a formidable partnership with recent recruit Addin Fonua-Blake, who has made the move from the New Zealand Warriors.
This combination promises to be a force to be reckoned with on the field.
"It's bloody awesome.
I reckon we've got something real special brewing at this club, and I cannot wait to be a part of it," Kaufusi elatedly expressed.
In securing Kaufusi's future with the Sharks, the club has taken a step towards building a strong and competitive team, aiming to make waves in the upcoming NRL seasons.
