The Cronulla Sharks are gearing up to break the Penrith Panthers' stranglehold over the NRL, drawing on years of preparation and shared experiences to fuel their bid for victory.

As they prepare to face off in Saturday night's preliminary final, the Sharks are confident that their hard work and determination will finally pay off, allowing them to take down the most dominant team of the modern era.

With nearly a decade of planning and development behind them, the club has built a squad that is ready to compete at the highest level.

Eight players who honed their skills with feeder club Newtown in 2019 will be taking the field, including forward Toby Rudolf.

Rudolf acknowledges the challenge ahead, noting that the Panthers have been the standard-bearers for player development in recent years.

As the Sharks gear up for the final showdown, they are drawing on past successes and failures, using them as motivation to propel themselves to victory.

With the determination and grit that defines Australian rugby league, the Sharks are ready to make their mark and dethrone the reigning champions.
