The Sharks are buzzing as Tonga triumphs over New Zealand in the Pacific Championships, with incoming prop Addin Fonua-Blake leading the charge.

Fonua-Blake, who recently joined the Sharks, put on a masterclass performance with 224 metres and a powerful try, showcasing his prowess as a prop.

Fellow Sharks representative Sione Katoa also left his mark on the thrilling match, scoring an early try and making two crucial line breaks, racking up an impressive 166 metres in the process.

Tonga started strong, racing to a 24-0 lead, but had to fend off a fierce comeback from the Kiwis, who managed to level the scores at 24-all in the 67th minute.

However, it was young Dolphins playmaker Isaiya Katoa who sealed the deal with a clutch field goal in the 75th minute.

Tonga will be looking to turn the tables on Australia in the upcoming final, seeking redemption for their previous 18-0 defeat to the Kangaroos earlier in the competition.

In other exciting matches, the Fiji Bulikula, led by Talei Holmes, fell short against Fetu Samoa in the women's Pacific Bowl final.

The stage is set for an epic showdown this weekend, as the Pacific Championships heat up and the Sharks continue to shine on the international stage.
