24-hour NRLW Squad: Two New Faces for Reshuffled Sharks
The Sharks are set to see two new players, Anne-Marie Kiria-Ratu and Tyla King, make their NRLW debuts in the upcoming home match against Wests Tigers.
Unfortunately, second-rower Rhiannon Byers has been added to the team's growing injury list.
This season has highlighted the Sharks' depth, as they've managed to include at least one debutante in each of their four games despite ongoing injuries.
Byers joins forwards Filomina Hanisi (ACL injury) and Jacinta Carter (head injury) as unavailable.
Additionally, fullback Jada Taylor is out due to ACL rehabilitation, and prop Caitlan Johnston-Green is taking time off after pregnancy.
To fill Byers' position, Jaydika Tafua will start, having only three games of NRLW experience under her belt, while Manilita Takapautolo steps in for Carter as a prop.
Newly debuted outside back Grace-Lee Weekes has been named as the 18th player.
Kiria-Ratu, who is the sister of Sharks halfback Chantay, will come off the interchange bench for her first match.
Her journey has been remarkable; she only joined the Sharks a few months ago without a development deal or any guarantees.
