Hohepa Puru, known as 'Pep,' is set to make his debut for the Sharks this Sunday against the Broncos after receiving a call from coach Craig Fitzgibbon while enjoying a day off on the golf course.

The versatile 22-year-old can play as a lock, hooker, or in the halves, and will become Shark #564 when he takes the field at Suncorp Stadium.

This match will be Puru's third appearance in the NRL, having previously represented Canberra twice in 2023, including an elimination final against Newcastle.
