In a closely contested NRLW trial at Sharks Stadium, the Cronulla Sharks and Roosters ended in a 12-all draw, showcasing a mix of emerging talent and experienced players.

The game unfolded in quarters without goal attempts, and initially, the Roosters took a commanding lead, scoring three tries: one from Brydie Parker and two from standout outside back Jayme Fressard.

However, after regrouping at halftime, the Sharks bounced back, largely influenced by Quincy Dodd's impressive performance.

Dodd excelled in the dummy-half role, scoring two quick tries and demonstrating her sharp kicking skills.

The debut performances of halfback Chantay Kiria-Ratu and prop Jacinta Carter added depth to the Sharks' gameplay; Kiria-Ratu played a crucial role in setting up the equalizing try for centre Grace-Lee Weekes.

Both teams opted for less than their strongest line-ups ahead of the upcoming Round 1 clash with the Eels, with notable absences like Sharks' Emma Verran, Tyla King, and Jada Taylor, as well as Roosters' Tarryn Aiken and Jess Sergis.

Despite missing key players, the match retained a high level of intensity and competitive spirit, featuring international players from both sides.

Cronulla's Tiana Penitani Gray, Annessa Biddle, and Brooke Anderson went head-to-head with Roosters' Isabelle Kelly, Keeley Davis, and Olivia Kernick, rekindling the rivalry from their 2024 grand final matchup.
