On Saturday, the Cronulla Sharks' Jersey Flegg team and their NSW Cup affiliate, the Newtown Jets, both achieved impressive victories against the Roosters in NRL curtain-raisers held at Gosford.
The under-21 Sharks displayed resilience, bouncing back from an 18-6 deficit to secure a 30-18 victory, marking their seventh consecutive win and elevating them to the top of the Flegg ladder.
Standout prop Felix Faatili led the charge, scoring two crucial tries.
"After scoring the Sharks' first try in the 14th minute, Faatili helped turn the momentum with two line breaks before securing his brace in the 48th minute."
Both teams are set for challenging matchups next week, with the Flegg Sharks facing Wests Tigers at Henson Park and the Jets going up against Western Suburbs in pursuit of the Tommy Raudonikis Cup.
Additionally, Sharks Members are reminded of their benefits, as they are entitled to free entry at Henson Park next Saturday by presenting their Membership card.
