In a move that is sure to add an extra spark to the St George Illawarra Dragons lineup, reports suggest that Cronulla Sharks five-eighth Daniel Atkinson has made the decision to switch teams and don the red and white come the 2026 season.
The Dragons have been on the hunt for new halves talent ever since releasing Ben Hunt at the close of the 2024 season.
With Lachlan Ilias now securing the number seven jersey and Kyle Flanagan impressing in the number six, the addition of Atkinson will provide a welcomed depth to the team's playmaking options.
With rising star Lykhan King-Togia as the only other backup for the halves, the Dragons will rely on his talents for the 2025 season before Atkinson's arrival.
The young gun, who made his debut towards the end of 2024, has yet to commit to a contract extension beyond next year.
It seems the Dragons are making bold moves to solidify their roster and climb the ranks in the NRL ladder.
With Atkinson's experience and skill set, the Dragons look set to conquer the field and make their mark in the upcoming seasons.
