Stepping Up: Faulkner Blazing a Trail for Future Sharks

Stephanie Faulkner has made history with the Cronulla Sharks, aiming to inspire the next generation of female athletes in the Shire.

After a standout performance where she scored two tries in her debut during a 56-6 victory over the Raiders, Faulkner embodies the success of a strong development pathway for women in rugby league.

At just 20 years old, she has realized her dream of playing for the Sharks.

Faulkner is particularly significant because she is the first player to progress entirely through Cronulla's female pathways to the NRLW.

Her journey began with the Lisa Fiola Cup, progressed through the Tarsha Gale Cup and Harvey Norman's Women's Premiership, and culminated in her recent position with the NRLW Development Squad and now the elite NRLW team.

Her achievements highlight not only her individual talent but also the effectiveness of structured pathways for female players.

Faulkner hopes her story will encourage more girls in the Shire to pursue a career in rugby league, demonstrating that with the right support and opportunities, they too can achieve their dreams.
