Melbourne Storm's SG Ball U19 side had a successful season in 2025, reaching the semi-finals and showcasing the growth of the Club's pathway program.

The team finished the regular season in eighth place with impressive performances, including wins in five out of nine games.

The squad had a strong local representation, with 19 out of 34 players coming from Victoria, highlighting the growth of the 'Road to AAMI Park' pathways program launched in late 2023.

Led by standout players like Lockyer-Azile Foliola and Cooper Clarke, the team secured a 36-16 victory over the Illawarra Steelers in the first week of the finals.

Despite facing challenges such as injuries and disruptions on game day, the squad fought hard in the semi-finals against the Parramatta Eels but fell short with a 24-12 loss.

The Semi-Final squad included nine local Victorian pathway players, with six of them having been part of Storm's Harrold Matthews U17 team in 2024.

Overall, the success of Melbourne Storm's SG Ball team reflects the growth and development of the Club's pathway program, as well as the talent emerging from Victoria.

The involvement of Junior Academy players and members of the Sunshine Coast Academy program further emphasizes the opportunities provided by the Club for young players to progress in their rugby careers.

With a strong performance in the 2025 season, the SG Ball U19 side has demonstrated the effectiveness of the pathways program in nurturing talent and providing opportunities for aspiring rugby players.
