Seven NRL clubs have been eliminated from the running to sign powerhouse forward Addin Fonua-Blake after his decision to leave the Warriors.

The star prop shocked the NRL player market by requesting a release from his contract with the Warriors, citing compassionate grounds for his return to Sydney.

Despite this, Warriors CEO Cameron George has assured fans that Fonua-Blake will remain with the club until the end of 2024, with the option to reassess his future from 2025 onwards.

Since the November 1 deadline, NRL clubs have been vying for the chance to add Fonua-Blake to their roster, but with seven teams now out of the race, the competition for his signature has intensified.

This announcement has sent shockwaves through the rugby league community, leaving fans and clubs eagerly awaiting Fonua-Blake's decision on his future in the NRL.
