The drama from last year's send off is water under the bridge for Reece Walsh and Queensland captain Daly Cherry-Evans, as they gear up to face the Blues in front of a roaring crowd of 80,000 at Accor Stadium.

Despite the pressure, Walsh's teammates are confident that the young fullback will only continue to improve in the coming years, likening him to a rising star in the sporting world.

Cherry-Evans has no doubts about Walsh's ability to keep his cool in the face of adversity, especially when facing off against NSW's energy officer Jarome Luai.

The two players have addressed their past altercation and are focused on the task at hand for Wednesday night's pivotal clash.

Walsh's last appearance in Origin saw him sent off for trading headbutts with Luai, but both players have put that incident behind them as they prepare to face off once again.

The Queensland faithful will be out in full force, ready to support their attacking weapon against the onslaught of blue supporters.

"I'm going to let Reece be Reece," Cherry-Evans declared.

"As long as we focus on playing the best footy as a team, I have no doubt that he will rise to the occasion.

With mentors like Billy Slater by his side, Walsh has all the support and guidance he needs to succeed on the big stage."

As they prepare to take on their rivals, Queensland remains united and focused on the game plan, ready to unleash their best performance with Walsh leading the charge.

In the world of Rugby League, it's all about leaving it all on the field and giving it your all for your team, and Walsh is ready to do just that.
