Sea Eagles swoop in on rival's rising star

LeagueNews.co | Jason Patrick

The Sea Eagles are reportedly eyeing the emerging talent of Wests Tigers' playmaker, Lachlan Galvin, as a potential long-term replacement for captain Daly Cherry-Evans.

According to Zero Tackle, Galvin has been impressive over the past two seasons in the Tigers' pathways program, earning a spot in the Australian Schoolboys team after winning the Harold Matthews Cup with the Wests Magpies in 2022.

With a strong group of playmakers at Concord, including Adam Doueihi, Aidan Sezer, Latu Fainu, Jayden Sullivan, and expected recruit Jarome Luai under the guidance of coach Benji Marshall, it may be challenging for Galvin to break into the Tigers' senior side.

The difficulty in securing playing time could attract interest from other clubs, with Manly rumored to be keeping tabs on the 18-year-old.

However, Galvin is currently under contract with the Tigers for the next three seasons, posing obstacles to any potential move in the immediate future.
