The Manly Warringah Sea Eagles have made a significant move in their women's rugby league program by deciding to field a team in the Harvey Norman NSW Women's Premiership in 2024.
This competition, which was established in 2005 and expanded in 2017, is the only statewide open-age tournament for women in New South Wales and is organized by the NSWRL.
With this decision, the Sea Eagles have provided a clear pathway for female rugby league players within their club.
In 2023, they competed for the first time in the Lisa Fiaola (U17s) and Tarsha Gale (U19s) competitions, and they will continue to field teams in both categories in 2024.
The club's CEO, Tony Mestrov, emphasized the importance of establishing a high-quality women's program and expressed the Sea Eagles' commitment to this goal.
This move reflects the club's dedication to the development of women's rugby league and their recognition of the talent and potential within their female players.
By participating in the Harvey Norman NSW Women's Premiership, the Sea Eagles are taking positive steps forward in the growth of their women's program.
This decision not only provides opportunities for female players within the club but also contributes to the overall advancement and recognition of women's rugby league in New South Wales.
